Sunset and Its Magic

When I was in Bantayan Island in Cebu a few months ago, I was able to see one of the most stunning sunsets that I have ever laid my eyes on. The sun was clearly seen in half on the horizon, its color was fiery red. The hues and colors of surroundings and every other details that made up the entire scene was nothing but spectacular. I was really in awe at that moment. I actually went back to that spot the next day to enjoy it again.

Even before that experience in Bantayan, I am already a sucker for beautiful sunsets. There is something during sundown that is intense yet relaxing; serene but spellbinding. It gives me an enchanting vibe that forces me to temporarily drop my negative baggage off. It is sometimes my instant stress reliever. The colors that are produced during this time of the day are breathtaking and magical.

In mobile photography, I usually shoot sunsets using manual mode of my LG V20. I set my camera at lower ISO, usually 100 or 50, and faster shutter speed. I adjust the shutter speed as I take the shot. Because there is a preview of the image on my phone, I can see the possible end result as I tweak my camera settings.

I also like shooting sunset because the effort and time consumed during post-processing are minimal. The scene created by sunsets and the colors are already attractive. Although, the limitations of my smartphone may come into play at times that is why I still need to enhance those shots. There are also times when I have a particular look in mind that I desire to achieve for my sunset photo, thus, I seek the help of my dependable partner apps.
